My name is Amy I am a Lurcher who has now been at the kennels for quite awhile, since September in fact. I was actually brought in by the dog warden to the council kennels next door, but Frank ( from here ) was working on the roof of his kennels and I jumped up beside him. How I did it know one knows because it must be at least ten feet.To cut a long story short I got to stay here and was promptly named Amy. I had a really, really bad skin condition but have had all the tests for allergies / biopsies / baths ect: but we couldn't get to bottom of it. I was all red and sore and used to scratch so much I made myself bleed. There came a day a couple of weeks ago that I was in such a mess with scratching and biting ( even though I had a buster collar on ) the girls took me down to the vets and their hearts were very heavy as they and the vets thought it might be kinder to let me go to the Bridge. However, the vet said to them "what do you want me to do" and they said just make her better !! They just couldn't let me go without a fight so I am now on steroids and special dog food from the vets yum yum I love it, Lidia who has one of our Rottie girls came up and she told Ena to get Flaxseed Oil to put in my dinner and it can also be rubbed in my coat. Great news is I now have that buster collar off, not biting and scratching There are before and after pics. even though I still need to get my coat in condition. I feel and look happier and want to play with my toys Santa brought me.
Amy xx.
