The following dogs have all found new homes together, where they have gone on to do agility and they love it, as you can see. Wee Bob ( his mum would have been so proud ) starts them off along with Tyser / Jess / Breeze. So good to see them enjoying themselves. xx

Humphrey >>
Posted: 18th April 2013

I'm Humphrey another one of the seven puppies rehomed just after New Year. It's so good to know that my brother and sisters are doing so well but I think there are two wee faces missing ie: Trudy and Dakota.

Ena,
Here is the latest news from Humphrey, as the puppies near 6 months old.
I am gorgeous, entertaining, very friendly and full of mischief. My family are besotted with me and mum is with me all day which is great. I love seeing the updates of my brothers and sisters, we seem to be growing up, happy and much loved.
Unfortunately I have a skin problem and a sensitive tummy, but mum looks after me, gives me my medicine and feeds me food that does not upset me.
Just before I am 6 months old, mum is taking me for some training as I love dogs and small children toooooo much. I just want to play but I can get a little too excited!
Time for my afternoon sleep in the beautiful sunshine.
Love Humphrey xxxxxxx

Humphrey thank yoou so much for the update, you look great and your coat looks a bit lighter. Sorry to hear you are having a few problems skin / tummy wise. We have every confidence that your folks will be looking after you well.
Ena xx

Rio >>
Posted: 17th April 2013

Hi Ena,

Rio has settled in really well. He loves playing fetch, though he sometimes isn't so keen on letting go, we are having lots of practice learning the difference between a pull toy and a ball. His lead work still leaves a bit to be desired but his recall is now very good and with the exception of chewing and shredding his toys (amongst other things...) he is an angel in the house. He loves going to the caravan and getting out and about, however he likes nothing better than cuddling up to a radiator in the evening.

I have attached a photo.

Rio is a real joy and a great addition to our family, thanks again,

Derek

p.s Rio had his little operation last week and so he will not be fathering any puppies, he is healing really well and completely unconcerned.

Thanks for the update Derek he looks so handsome, glad he's had his op and is over it well.

Maybe see you sometime for a visit.

Ena xx

Cody ( back for visit) >>
Posted: 11th April 2013

Look who came to visit today Cody "our " Border Collie boy who certainly landed on all four paws, just like so many of our collie's recently. People have to understand they are not easy dogs no matter how much you watch " One Man and his Dog " they are hard work !!! Luckily for Cody and Broc, Ozzy they found committed owners who have given them the time patience and love they need, Cody is learning to do flyball, we really appreciate this xx

Well another two that didn't reach the web site, this is Holly & Maddie who have found themselves a wonderful new home together. Raeburn and John adopted Lucy, from us over ten years ago, sadly she has gone to Rainbow Bridge. She was a really special wee girl and they adored her, and they now feel they could offer a great home to another wee dog or in ths case two wee dogs. Love from the girls xx

Hello Ena
It looks horrific but they get on really well together! Kes is my daughter's Vizla and loves seeing Maggie. These were taken on a beach near where Anne stays and much to our surprise Maggie went in the sea. She normally avoids getting even her feet wet!
Hope you are all fine at Secondchance
Cheers

Hello Frank & Ena,

Apologies for not having been in touch sooner... time flies when you're having fun!

Well what can I say? Cody is a FAB-U-LOUS wee dog, he's fitted in so easily, it's like he was meant to be with us all along. One week after he came to live with us, I started letting him off the lead. Yes his recall is still a work in progress but with training and plenty of exercise, he's learning to trust me and the 2 of us are getting there :D I still use a harness and spare lead to trail behind him when he is off the lead, that way no one gets flustered when play-time is over!

Yesterday we went for a 2.5hr walk in the Formonthills and he never stopped, chased his ball all the way!

We also started Flyball training a few weeks back but with the snowy weather we've had, it hasn't been regular. Our trainer (Shian) thinks Cody will be ready to compete some time over the summer!! Scary biscuits.. we'd better work on that recall some more!

Although Cody isn't competing yet, Max is and last weekend we were away to Great Harwood (500 miles!) for Max's first competition! We had great fun, especially in the hotel room.. no nothing like that! :D Two humans and 5 dogs!! Cody was hilarious, jumping around from one bed to another.. people bed that is. He is quite the talker as well, just priceless :)

He now comes over for cuddles and is quite happy for me to lift him up on my lap when we're watching TV. He certainly has relaxed about being touched/handled. There was never any sign of aggression or fear about being handled, he just wasn't comfortable and usually kept out of reach. Nowadays if he's invited up on my bed, he can't resist a cuddle and a capper, cheeky :)

He is such a fast learner, he keeps me on my toes! I'm thinking about taking him to heelwork to music just to do something else to engage his mind; I think he'd be good at it.

I had him at the vet's today for his booster and he was ever so brave, not a squeak. Talking about vets, I am going to forward this email to Leanne at Inglis; I'm sure she'll be delighted to hear how well he is doing.

Anyway I'm sure you're dying to see some pictures of the lovely boy.. here they are

We will come round for a wee visit next week if that's ok.

See you all soon.

Love from Vee, Max, Isla & Cody x
