Baxter and Megan Day 1. >>
Posted: 31st January 2014

Hi Ena and Frank,

Another wee pic for u to show I’m fine. I like looking out the windows front and back. Liz says the living room is a mess as I’ve taken out about a dozen toys to play with but I’ve not learned to tidy up yet. Steve bought me a new coat yesterday from the Doghouse just like Megan’s so now I have two.

Love Baxter

Baxter thank you so much for the update, so pleased to see you are settling in well with your folks and big sis Megan.

Wee Alfie has been looking for you, but have told him how you too now have a lovely home.xxx

Willow ( was Daisy) & Tiggs( was Tigger) >>
Posted: 28th January 2014

What a lovely surprise this afternoon, Tiggs and Willow brought mum Rachel for a visit. It was so nice to see them all, and to see the difference that Willow has made to Tiggs. Anytime Tiggs came before with his mum he would just sit beside her and not move. Today he was so different and it was good to see how settled they are together. xx

Rio >>
Posted: 28th January 2014

Hi Ena,

Sorry that I missed your call yesterday, I hope that you are well.

Rio is great. He is a typical young man. He loves running loose about the field and especially amongst the bushes and trees, recall is very good but I really should do more lead work with him. He is not keen on wet and windy days and sometimes has to be encouraged to come on a walk. When it is dry is would spend all day out and about given half a chance.

He is very enthusiastic and finds fun in everything, he can be a little over excited at times when we get visitors but settles quickly. He loves toys especially ropes but is very hard on them and can destroy a supposedly "tough" toy in a couple of minutes (see attached). He however doesn't chew / damage anything else only his toys.

In the house, while not playing, Rio likes to cuddle up and keep warm, he can often be found stretched out along side our hall radiator but his preference is usually on the settee, on somebody's lap, or just curled up on his own.

I keep meaning to pop in with him for a visit but life has been hectic over the last 3 months with my dad in hospital and son ill.

We love Rio he has real character and is an important member of the family, have attached a photo of him with a new toy, tried to get one of him running free but he never stops long enough.

Cheers,

Derek.

Thanks for the update Derek he looks stunning, would love to see you sometime.Hope your dad and son are on the mend now !!

Hi Ena , Frank and friends at Second Chance. It's me Megan, thought I would send you a few pics of me at my new home. It has been a couple of weeks now and I have settled in just fine. I have two new pals as you can see. Meg the black lab stays with me, and Olly the JRT is my aunty's dog. There is another one called Cindy but not got a photo of her yet. Had my first walk off lead this weekend and really enjoyed running through every big muddy puddle I could find, loved chasing Meg through the woods. Will send you an update later on with some more pics of us out and about
Love to you all

Lovely Isla >>
Posted: 25th January 2014

Well who would believe it, six years ago tomorrow, wee took a wee heavily pregnant girl into the kennels her name was Bonnie, Frank and I left the kennels that night at 9-45. I awoke at 12-45 early next morning and said to Frank I'm going up to the kennels to make sure Bonnie is okay, he said hang on i'm coming too so we got our dogs back in the van and headed off. We arrived to find Bonnie had just given birth to a puppy, so we made her as comfortable as we could and she went on to have her puppies.

Isla was the only golden one she was like a wee fur ball. Hasn't she grown into such a beautiful girl, her folks have always brought her back once or twice a year to see us, they just adore her. Sorry you missed your sausage pet we were just so busy, make up for it next time xxxx

We see your big brother Alfie sometimes too, it's funny you were all so different Alfie looks more like a Shepherd xx

Ena has found a photo of me when I was going to my new home as a puppy awwwwwww xx

So Happy Birthday for the 27th January to all Bonnie's pups. xxx

Our wee lass. >>

Hello all at Second Chance Kennels. You may me I was adopted little a few years ago.
She was about 9/10 years old and had some medical problems mainly a heart murmur. Anyway is still with us and is settling into retirement. She is no longer as active as she has developed a few more problems, she has regular vet appointments who assures us that she is in no pain and to leave her be without to much treatment. Although old we love her as much or more as we did from the first day we saw her.
I thought it would be nice to send you a few pics of her as a way of thanking you for allowing us the privilege of caring for her. She is great wee dog - so gentle and happy with a tickle and a cuddle. We hope she will be with us for a while longer as I know we are going to be so lost without her.
Thank you again
Thank you so very much for the update on "our " wee girl. Glad she settled so well and getting lots of love and cuddles. xx

Bryn and Bailey >>
Posted: 24th January 2014

Hello Ena and Frank, just a wee note to let you know how well Bryn and Bailey are doing here in Canada. I rescued Bryn (aka: Fluke) Nov 2006 and Bailey (aka: Rudy) Dec 2007. We moved to Canada in January 2009. Both boys are doing brilliantly. Bryn will be 8 in July and Bailey will be 7 in September. My how time flies. They now have a little rescue sister named Gracie. I fostered her in January 2013 and adopted her in March. She is a little female Border Collie and was a year old when she came to stay with us. She will be 2 on Feb 14, 2014. She chases Bailey around to no end in the back yard and plays tug-o-war with him. They all get on so well. I am so blessed to have such a wonderful K9 family. Happy New Year and blessings to you all.
Hi Lynda how lovely to hear from you, so nice to think you have taken the time out to send us an update love it.and so good to hear how " our " boys are doing, good to hear you have a new addition too. Love Border Collie's. I will try and get the pics though not sure if I will be able to do them. Will certainly try dying to see them all. xxx
And here they are absolutely gorgeous xx

Well this is me getting ready to go home with my new mum and dad, who are lovely by the way.I don't even bother mwhen they lift me x

They came to visit me last Saturday and spent awhile getting to know my wee ways.I now have a wee Westie sister, and mum says we are doing really well together. They took my bed up to their room and when they woke up I was lying on my back with all four legs in the air haha. Love Jack xx. I think Ena secretly wanted to keep me, but she says if she can't have me I'm in the best possible home xx.
