Had a phone call yesterday from Tracy /Lloyd and their family about this wee girl who they have named Luna, this will be the fourth dog they have adopted from us since we started, back in 1995, sadly they only have Poppy now, she is nearly eight years old. Thanks again for taking another wee Second Chance girl into your home. xx

Doogie & Fergus xx >>
Posted: 10th March 2014

Hello Ena Frank and friends happy 2014. We have been here now longer than any other home and we are much more confident. Lucy and her friends train us for treats and we can sit do high five and lie down. Currently working on roll over and meercat :). Doogie is doing great and now approaches strangers with a sniff and wag of tail instead of barking. Fergus is a feisty boy we call him cop dog. He's yappy when he spies a dog or cat but not as frenzied as before We can't let hmm off the lead unless totally safe as he throws a deaffy and we don't want him running onto the road. Hope you all enjoy our latest poses lots of love Fergus and Doogie xxx

Joanne thank you so much for the update on your " boys " so good to hear they are doing so very well. Love the photo's they are very close these wee lads methinks lol xxx

Posted: 10th March 2014

Hi Ena and frank,

i am sending you a couple of piccies of alfie with nala,
and letting you know how he is getting on, well he has settled in
brill loves everyone big hugs and kisses all the time,
we have managed to get nala to eat pedigree which is brill as she did'nt like it before
she does'nt have much choice to eat it it as alfie would scoff it if he had a chance,
so she eats her quick now, she never used to , They play brill too in the garden,
It is funny watching them chase each other, we are going to be trying alfie on a harness soon,
to see if he is any better on the lead , he is a strong dog,
we have had a few mishaps with him, like eating my oldest daughters laptop wire
and destroying our kitchen bin, and trying to pinch our youngest daughters best teddy lol
he will get there, but he is doing great and thought i would let you both know,
He loves getting a bath, my hubby got a bit wet bath them both lol,
I hope everything is great there, you are doing a brill job, ooh and i love they g/s pups
take care and speak soon
trudy hazle. xx
Trudy thank you so much for the update on Alfie, we were going to call you tomorrow to see how he and Nala were doing and to let you know Stanley went to his new home today. As I said to Frank the rest of their lives start here. Thank you again love the pics. xx

Our Jack xx >>
Posted: 6th March 2014

Hiya Ena!
It's Donna here with a wee Jack update for you! :) Hope you, Frank, Big Alfie, Wee Alfie and the gang are doing well through there. Sorry it's been so long - I cannie believe we've had Jack over a month now, wow! He's such a lovely addition to the family and in some ways it feels like he's been living with us for years actually, bless him. <3
Jack's settled in really well - loves his 3 walks a day, big garden, (he's like the king of the castle out there, swaggering around marking his territory everywhere and barking at anyone that dares walk past the hedge, lol!) chewbones and toys. He sleeps in his own bed next to ours and on his lounger, the settee or my chair beside me downstairs throughout the day. A very pampered young man, and rightly so too! :) He does still have some wee issues from his past, but we kind of know all his triggers now so work around them, and hopefully in his own time they'll pass. I think he definitely has been ill treated before like you's thought and am so glad he found his way to us because I know a lot of folks might've been turned off by his unpredictability, but we just smother him with love and accept him for the grumpy old man he can be at times, haha! Just a typical terrier mainly really like Cindy, and our Yorkies (sorry Wee Alfie!) before her. :) Jack and his new big sister just ignore each other really - she just bumbles about in her own wee bubble with her being older and a bit blind and deaf, but he'll go up to her when they're in the garden as though he's looking out for her, and waits his turn when I feed them. Such a gentleman, haha!
Jack also now attends Senior Doggy School on a Monday which he really seems to like as he gets all excited and pleased with himself at the end of each class, haha! It's nothing heavy, really just a social club for older pups. He's quite the character there as all the other dogs are big (which hasnae stopped him snapping at a couple of them, oops!) and stay/sit/lie down etc on command, whereas he just likes a sniff and walk about the hall! This week though i've been teaching him to sit in the house and he's starting to get the hang of it already - he looks at me as if to say: "Eh are you daft, giving me a treat just because i'm having a seat", lol! Must send you a wee video.
His back paw's much better so we're able to go on longer walks now and beyond the park which is great! Last weekend we were up Arthur Seat/Holyrood Park, he was well puffed oot when we got back to the car and flaked out on my knee the whole journey back, bless! My friend (who I just learned goes to your 'Bark In The Park' each year, we'll be there with her this year of course!) looks after her colleagues' older Cairn Basil too, so we're going to have a play-date with them soon. It'll be funny to see how they react to eachother with them both being pretty much identical! And we'll come through to see Auntie Ena and Uncle Frank when your tin's full of course, he'll be missing you's! :)
Well i'll add a few pics to this email for you - still no got a proper family pic of us all but must ask my brother to take one when he's next at the house, and we'll be through to see you's soon!!
Donna xx
Thank you so very much Donna for the update on Jack, so pleased he has settled in so well.He was another wee lad who just needed people who understood him, wee soul. Love photo's.xxx

Big Ben xx >>
Posted: 5th March 2014

Hi Ena
Just thought I'd ping you over a quick photo of the lovely Ben out on a walk yesterday. As you can see he was keeping a weather eye out for deer! Loving the longer lighter evenings coming in now. Ben is doing great, so so affectionate and very fit and sleek now (we've had to raise our garden fence due to his bouncing over the hedge the other day when some deer popped up in the field, thank goodness the sheep are away for the winter) hope we can pay you a visit soon as he says he misses the second chance sausages! We met another second chance dog on our walk the other day, a scruffy lurcher called Archie.
Hope you and Frank are doing well,
Lucy xx
Lucy thank you so much for the update on Ben, he looks so good, imagine meeting up with Archie he was just a puppy when he was adopted. xx

Update on wee Baxter xx >>
Posted: 2nd March 2014

Hi Ena, Frank and all my Friends,

I had a big week last week and wanted to share it with you.

Firstly Liz gave me a bath in the kitchen sink with special shampoo. I wriggled a bit and tried to climb out but got shampooed anyway. Liz says I smell all lemony now. She also gave me a nice rub dry and a brush. Steve came home at night and said I looked fair handsome.

But the most exciting thing for me was getting off my lead on the old railway walk. It was early on Saturday morning and there was no-one about so Steve let me off my lead. I had great fun chasing Megan all over the place. I was a good we boy and came back when called and I only strayed on to the golf course twice. Steve called me and I came back straight away.

I had another lead free walk in the afternoon and again at night. The evening walk was even better because when Liz called me back she gave me a wee treat for being such a good boy. Megan and I both liked that a lot.

Baxter that's brilliant, so happy for you. All you needed was someone to understand and give you the love you so needed.xxx

Liz says I’m so cute and funny that I should be in a Disney film.

I hope you are all well and I’ll keep in touch.

Woofs and licks

Wee Baxter

This is an update on wee Holly and her new family.

Sally thank you so much for the update and the photo of you all.She certainly looks as if she is really enjoying life. It's really good and so so pleased "our" Holly has settled in so well. Your girl is just so lovely too xx.

Dear Ena,

Holly is settling in really well. This morning we went down to Tenstmuir and both Holly’s had a great time on the beach and in the sea. I’ve attached a photo of us all in the garden. What a lovely day it’s been and hopefully we will have lots more of these soon!

We have decided to call new Holly, Polly, as although they don’t seem to notice the difference, at least we know which dog we’re talking about!!

Thank you again for finding such a lovely girl for us to re-home,

Best wishes,

Sally & Mark
