Izzy ( was Sally) & Maggie >>
Posted: 28th November 2013

Got a phone call last week from a chap, he and his wife have already adopted three dogs from us and given them such a brilliant life. Sadly the lovely Tess went to Rainbow Bridge last year followed by their beloved Sam this year.

Phone call went something like we are looking to adopt again Ena,but want to go for a smaller dog this time, I said I have a wee Jackadoodle sitting on my knee with her pal Maggie. So Jim said he would be interested in one, by this time I had put them on Homeless Hounds !! To cut a long story short Jim and his mum came over this afternoon, Frank and myself were out, bless them they waited about three hours for us to come back, so much so the wee ones were on Jim's knee, well bonded and never even got off to say hello to us.

So another happy ending, these two wee ones have gone to a wonderful home together, they will stay with Jack (Second Chance wee boy) and have a wonderful gran & grandad on hand to help as well.

Hi Jane thanks for the story and update on Ben love the photo's,so happy and pleased for you all. I'll need to look out for another star in the making in the agility / flyball world xx You look like one very happy Border Collie Ben,lots of love Ena & Frank xx.

Hi Ena and Frank it's Ben here!
Hope you are both well - time has just flown by and can't believe I've been in my new forever home for 6 weeks now!
Well I've been really busy having great fun and meeting lots of new doggies on my walks. I'm off the lead every day now cos Mum and Dad say my recall is so much better, and I really don't like either of them being out of my sight! I just love running and fetching my ball all day long.
I've met 2 collie friends, one of whom was a rescue doggy just like me at 18 months old and now can you believe he will be representing Scotland in the World agility championships in Italy next year!! His dad Euan is one of the obedience teachers at the local dog club where they do 'Good Citizen', Obedience, Flyball and Agility classes and we're hoping to go along to it soon now that I'm feeling well settled in to my new pad.
I hope you like these latest photos!
Love, licks, sniffs and hugs
Ben xxxxx

Frank and myself visited Shadow and his mum today, Grant was also there nice to meet him. Some of you may remember Shadow he was the older Border Collie who was found up Oriel woods in Kirkcaldy, thankfully a lovely couple found him and brought him here, he was in a terible state but when he came out of their car he wagged his tail and gave us, what we now call his Elvis smile. He had obviously been out for awhile in the heat wave we had in the summer, as he drank water for two days as if he was never going to see another bowl of water. We were a bit worried by this but had his kidneys checked and he was fine. However he did have terrible skin problems and had to have a few baths a week to help this. To cut a long story short his mum had seen him on the web site and just fell in love with him. She came and visited him a few times till he was ready to go to his new home.Uncle Ian our Home Inspector did the home visit and the rest is history. He still attends the Dick Vet in Edinburgh and also gets a lovely Spa bath every week, how pampered is he bless him. He looks great we got the most wonderful smile and a lovely welcome from him, of course wee Alfie had to go and see his pal as well.

Shadow your looking great coat shining has put a bit of weight on. Jinty thank you so much for taking such good care of " Our " boyHope he enjoys many more years with you and his pals at the park. xxx.

Was just thinking about some of our past residents and gave them a wee call. Thanks Jo for the update on Buck, glad he's doing so very well.he is a sweetheart, can hardely believe it's over a year already xx

And what a year it has been, congratulations to his mum & dad, he now has two wee girls to look after. Hope they all get on as well as Oscar & Bailey, and grow up to be best buddies xx ( There are pics of them both growing uo together all through Happy Hounds it's lovely )

Hi Ena,

I'm sorry it has been so long since we have contacted you - life has been pretty hectic here!

Buck is doing brilliantly. He is such a lovely dog and he has the most gentle nature. He has settled in well at home and has truly become a dog who enjoys his creature comforts! Everytime we go for a walk people stop and compliment him for his gorgeous looks and we love him so much. We had considered coming back to find him a friend because he loves other dogs so much however our household has expanded somewhat since we saw you and he now shares us with 7 month old twin girls! Buck is lovely with the girls and we are so pleased that they are going to grow up with such an amazing dog.

I've attached a couple a photographs for you.

Jo xx
