Brodie ( was Paddy here) >>
Posted: 31st October 2014

Hi Ena and Frank,
I just thought I'd update you on Brodie (Paddy). It's been over a year and a half since he came home with me, and rest assured, he is loved to bits and spoiled rotten.
I have been at the end of my tether with him at times, He's given me a lot of grey hairs! He worried sheep and continually escaped and went walk about, but I have been fortunate to find a fantastic gundog trainer, who was able to give me a lot of help with him, and a lot of insight into how the working cocker's little brains tick!. Brodie is now a fully trained gundog, and 99% of the time, is a complete joy, I'm so proud of him!
He has definitely been the most challenging rescue I have ever had, but I can't imagine life without him now. Thank you for letting me have him.
Sometimes, you never know what you are getting with a rescue dog, they are often ( but not always) a rescue for a reason, but in my experience they usually turn out to be the best dogs you could ever ask for, given love, patience and commitment.
Hats off to you both and your brilliant staff for what you do for these dogs.
Wishing you all the best,
Vicky,Brodie (AKA Paddy) and Cooper.

Vicky thank you so much for the update on Brodie, so pleased you adopted him although I think you often wondered yourself " why did I do this " He looks great.Frank and myself are always so greatful to people who put the time and effort in to help our residents, and as you said some need it more than others !! Must have been quite a shock to the system after wee Lucy xxx

Blue & Sky xx >>
Posted: 30th October 2014

Hi Ena

Just to let you know Blue and Sky are really settling in now. They are a joy! They've been to the hairdresser who also thought they were gorgeous!

They love getting their coats on (plenty of practice with this weather!) and then when they come home, getting on their bath robes. If they stayed

still long enough, we might eventually get a photo of them! Blue loves lying in front of the wood-burner at nights, toasting herself until she's so hot,

she has to move away for all of five minutes before she's back again! Sky prefers the comfort of her double duvet!

Hope all is well.

Best wishes

Reta, Alison, Blue and Sky

Thank you so very much for the update on your girls, so pleased they have settled so well, they look amazing xx

Love these kind of stories, Sparky was adopted from here about nine years ago, his folks came by for a visit and to hand in some duvets, of course they had to pass Skye on the way in and that was it Sparky has a new brother. Sparky is now 12 years old but they get on well Skye repects Sparky, Skye is even good with the wee cat who lives with them. xx

HaHa Peter received your update before I had time to put your photo on from the kennels lol x here it is now, minus your mum who had to go away xx

Best picture I got of the two so far. He is practically everyone's shadow and will take them both for a walk round the horse paths and reservoir soon.

Max ( black boy) another one who didnt reach the website ! Sparky was adopted from here by his family 12 years ago he is now 14 years young and doesn't he look amazing. Wendy / Euan /Peter and Briony came to see Benji but after meeting the wee lad we all decided he would be too much for Sparky. Peter spied Max and well the rest is history. Brilliant home so pleased for them all xx

Back up at Silverdykes again. Not often we get a photo of Poppy and Susie together as they are confident wee individuals now. Remember how they used to stay together like 'us against the world' We have had them for three years now and I never thought we would have been lucky enough to have had Susie that long. Her legs don't work so well and her Cushings symptoms come and go but she is a happy wee soul and has us well trained to cater for her every need x

Aw thanks how cute are they Lorraine still best buddies xx

Wee Susie xx >>
Posted: 16th October 2014

Away in caravan this week. Very windy this morning so Susie had a quick trip outside and is in the bed now and has been tucked up for another snooze. You should be able to see a little blonde head and two black ears. Everything else is cosied in, even her nose. The heating is on overnight for her. Everyone else is too hot but it's just right for a small dog who had a haircut last week x
Aw bless, why did this not surprise me lol, Lorraine thanks love the photo, hope you's all had a good time xx.

Danni thank you so much for the photo's of your mum and dad's dog dog Bud, can hardly believe it's been eight years already since they adopted him. He's looking great and is obviosly a very happy chappy xx.

These photos of Bud are when he and i have being playing together hence the superdog pic haha he loves it.

Ciaro managed the car ride home fine except she drulled everywhere haha always fun to clean up. Left her down stairs with back door open for her to have access to the garden came dowm after 30 mins of working and she chewed everything that was in the bin and howled so..i think previous owner may have fibbed about the non chewing and that she can be left on her own however all we need is time and shel be fully confident will keep you posted cant wait to share this journey with her.
