Since it opened in 1999, hundreds of dogs have passed through the kennels doors and have gone on to wonderful new homes and families. On this page you will see some of those lucky dogs in their forever homes, and hear how they've settled in and how they've enriched their new families' lives.

This is Yogi who now stays with Fiona & Graham, they came to Second Chance looking for a dog, but we thought this big lad who was resident at the Pet Care Centre at the time would be just the dog they were looking for! He has landed on all four paws he is an absolute angel and very much loved.

Mac >>
Posted: 28th July 2006

Some of you may remember Mac, he was the wee jack russell with the big ears that was rehomed from here a few weeks ago. Well, we just got this message from Mac himself to tell us how he has settled in:

Well its been an interesting week. On the first day I was exploring my new play area. I discovered that they had built me a paddling area(very nice too) although Im sure something was nipping at my paws. However Bob soon pulled me out. Whilst I was running madly about trying to get dry I found a biscuit which I decided to bury in the garden but all these green things were in the way. I soon took care of THAT anyway which seemed to get everyone very excited but Im not sure why.

I thought humans were supposed to be intelligent but sometimes I wonder. Its taken me a while to get their training right, but they seem to be learning a bit now. Im missing you all lots but better stay here to look after these people, (they are a bit mixed up about who is the boss). Please come and visit whenever you like though.

All my love
Mac

This is Milly's new family, who absolutely adore her well who wouldn't she was a right wee cuddly girl, have just called about her, she has been in her new home about nine hours now and is doing really well, and was playing with a wee Jack Russell visitor when I called.

She has settled in beautifully, they all absolutely adore her, well who wouldn't!

Hope this helps her last mum & dad come to terms with having to part with her as they loved her so very much.

Paddy, Susie & Pip >>
Posted: 24th July 2006

This lot are Paddy (brown lad at the front, he is the oldest boy about fifteen), he was already in the family when they came along and fell in love with their golden girl Susie, they then came back to let us see how Susie was doing, it was fatal Pip decided he liked them so much he kicked up a right stir when they went home without him, that was the Saturday. The great news is they brought Paddy back on the Sunday to see how he got along with Pip, well we know the rest. And don't they all look so happy together, another happy ending!

This wee guy is Bob, he's gone on to be a Pat Dog now. We are all really proud of him and so is his "Mum":

Hi Ena,

That's us back from another blazing long weekend in Strontian. As you can see from the pics Bob and Ralph had an ace time.

Bob has passed his assessment to be a Pat a Pet - he totally loves old biddies - and being centre of attention. He's such a grand wee dog!

Well, this is Zues the rottie meeting up with Casey (now Katy) on the beach, they look like they're having great fun!

This is Jack with his mum Karen, he was a wee bit difficult when he first went home, but had never showed any of these problems at the kennels.

However Ian & Karen and their family have worked through all his problems, and they now have a lovely wee dog whom they absolutely adore.
