Murphy and Tiser >>
Posted: 8th December 2007

This is Murphy, who was adopted a while ago, with Tiser, who has recently been adopted by the same family, with their young owner Gemma.

Murphy got a few rosettes, and Tiser the collie has quite a few rosettes and also won best in show, well done you two and I hope you are taking some "sweeties" home to Bob (another one of our dogs in the same family who stayed with dad). Bob is not so good at the moment with lots of people and dogs around but he is getting better.

I only arrived this week, it just so happened that the day I arrived there was a couple in that morning who have been waiting for a Rottie boy for what seems like ages, and they just pop down to the kennels now and then to see if any have arrived. Talk about fate! Plus they have had Rottie's and Gsd's before.

So, I am off to my new home this is my new mum & dad, don't they look nice!

I was featured in our local paper, the Fife Free Press, this week and guess what? I now have a new home!!!

Mum is really nice and she has a horse called Tegan who I will get to meet, I'm so excited I can hardly wait and the good thing is I now eat puppy food ect. This morning I had scrambled egg for breakfast with some puppy food mixed in then I had a drink of lactol, very satisfying!

Thanks to everyone who called offering me a home.

P.S. after the girls at the kennels saying I didn't eat dog food what do you think I did the moment a bag of food was put down in my new home? They have been trying to get me to eat this for a week!!

At last I have been CHOSEN, and it has been worth the wait!

This is me with my dad, sadly big Ace the Doberman who they adopted from here four years ago when he was five has sadly passed away. They now feel ready to have another wee dog in their life and they chose me.

Ena has already called about me I've had a great night and when she called I was away up the forest with my dad.

Kyle McMillan >>
Posted: 25th November 2007

Hi everyone, it's Kyle here! You may remember I was brought to Second Chance when my owner passed away at the end of August, I needed a special foster home as my skin was in a bit of a state.

There had been a lovely couple at the kennels looking for a wee dog, Ena & Mhairi thought they might like me, so they gave them a call.

Suffice to say they were down the next day to see me and totally adored me, so a home visit was done and I went out on foster care. My mum & dad have had me at the vets and now my skin is getting better every day.

Ena laughed when Ewan & Margaret arrived today asking when was I going to be their very own special boy, their wee grandaughter Erin is my very special friend. So, the adoption papers have been signed and I am now officially Kyle McMillan!

Just want to say thanks to my folks for looking after me and giving me such a wonderful home, it's not many people who would lift their good carpet in case it was irritating my skin.

Love to mum / dad & Erin xxx

P.S. Ena says thank you so much for the donation to Second Chance.

Hi, Macy here! This is me with my new family, mum's just off the phone to Ena to tell her we had a wonderful walk through the woods and I love the river. My mum walks quite a few dogs so I will have lots of friends to play with, in fact one came to visit while Ena & Frank were here! It was wee Dino (that's him with his mum Phyllis in the 2nd pic), he was adopted about three years ago when he was thirteen. I hope I look as good as him at nearly sixteen!

Macy xx

Update 24th Nov: Hi, just to give you an update Ena. Macey is having a fantastic time I think she must have covered every blade of grass and been up and down every hill in the Calder woods, she loves the river gets on great with all the other dogs and they all like her too. She has become bosum buddies with Poppy and Molly. I'll try and send pictures ASAP. I was wondering if instead of a beardie mix she may be a wire- haired pointer cross as she is an intrepid hunter but always comes back like a rocket when I call on her. So having woods with deer, rabbits, badgers, pheasants and foxes on her doorstep she is always on the move. Thanks again for choosing us as her new owners she is just a pleasure to be around.

This is Belle with her adoring mum & Auntie Jen, Belle was adopted from here in May this year and her mum was so delighted with her. She and Jen did a sponsored walk along, wait for it... part of the Great Wall of China! Well, they were going anyway but decided to get people to sponsor them and they raised 300-00 for Second Chance!

We would just like to say a huge well done and thank you, it is much appreciated Marion.

Posted: 23rd November 2007

This was a very welcome e-mail this morning, Katie was a wee Beardie mix who had quite a hard start in life, she had already had two homes before being chosen by Derek and his family.
Derek had been down to the kennels a few times looking for a Beardie type, then the last time he came he said he had put his name down for a Beardie puppy. Then we got Katie in, I phoned Derek and his family they came to meet her and that was it love at first sight. So off she went to stay in Glenrothes. She used to come and visit then one day Derek came to say that they were moving to Houston Texas with his job, I was devastated because I thought she would be coming back to us and this after having found such a brilliant home. However Derek asked why I looked so sad and I said what a shame she will need to come back and THEN Derek said no way she's going with us. So this is some pics of her in Houston Texas looking great.

I just wish everyone had the commitment of the Bence family.

Hi Ena,

It has been a while since we have sent you any pictures of Katie and how wells she is doing. Loving the cool weather this week and she is able to sneak on the golf course and dig in the sand. I love going onto your website and looking at all the pictures. Ena you are still doing a great job keep it up. We are coming over for a visit next year if everything works out and we will come and give you a visit. If you still remember us it has been a long time. Katie has been a great blessing in our lives and i don't know where we would be without here.

Bence family

Best regards,
Derek
