Since it opened in 1999, hundreds of dogs have passed through the kennels doors and have gone on to wonderful new homes and families. On this page you will see some of those lucky dogs in their forever homes, and hear how they've settled in and how they've enriched their new families' lives.

This is Bella with her folks and Jessy who was one of our dogs adopted about 6 years ago and Jack the lovely Greyhound boy. I was never so pleased that I didn't have room when they first approached me about taking her, as she now has the perfect home.

Dougal >>
Posted: 13th October 2009

Dear Ena, we adopted Dougal as a pup in mid 2004 and have been having fun with him ever since. At the kennels the kids decided to call him Lucky but as soon as he came through the door at home he looked like a Dougal so Dougal it was. He's the most gorgeous natured dog, clever and very obedient and wonderful with children. Maybe we should have stuck with Lucky...we certainly were really lucky to get him! I know a few folk were interested in him so we consider ourselves really blessed that you let him make the trip across the water to Edinburgh. He loves big walks and has bagged a few Munros, keeps us company running and cycling most days and is a keen swimmer. He's quite a retriever so we have endless games of fetch. He's been happy and healthy for the past 5 years and he's our best friend. Good luck with finding homes for your current homeless hounds, I'm sure they'll find good families really soon.
Best wishes from all of us...and Dougal! xxx

Hi Ena,
Just wanted to send you a wee email to let you know how I am getting on. I go to work everyday with my Mum and Dad which is great. I have made lots of new friends which I run about and play with nearly every day. Dad took a photo of me today with my pals, I am in the middle looking a wee bit tired. I have been on a few holidays with the caravan which was good and we are all going on a small island which I will have all to myself soon, can't wait.
Hope everyone is well and Mum and Dad are on your website every second day having a wee nose at all the lovely dogs that you take in to re home, wish I could have a wee brother or sister but they keep saying they are happy with just me at the moment, perhaps one day .

Love Diesel

Fergus & Mika >>
Posted: 11th October 2009

Hi Ena

I thought I would send you a couple of photo’s through of Fergus – he absolutely adores little Mika the kitten – even if she is a wee monster LOL

I have also attached a copy of him this morning stealing all the heat from the office radiator – no wonder we freeze!

I have to say I am always amazed at the character of Fergus – I am not sure if it is because he is deaf but he is such a sensitive dog – extremely friendly and laid back! He is the best behaved of all 3 in the office – he just lies in his bed (or sits by the radiator!) and wags his tail whenever we get visitors. The only time he moves is when food is on the go LOL

Remember to pop into to office when you are passing … we (and the dogs!) would be pleased to see you

Kind regards
Jayne

Look who arrived today for a visit, our big lad Sonny B. when he went to stay with Vicky & Gordon he wieghed a whopping 73 kilos. Now he is down to around 55 k. and looks amazing it has been a long slog having to watch what he was eating, but they did it because they love him. I got to give him a wee special treat (having asked his mum of course) a couple of wee cocktail sausages something we usually have in the fridge for our residents and visiting doggies.Sonny it was lovely to see you and your mum. xx

Sadly this lovely families last wee Second Chance girl is now at Rainbow Bridge she is named Sasha. They gave theirselves time to grieve and decided they needed another wee girl in their lives. So mum said to me just find me a wee black short haired multi pedigree girlie, well it took a wee while but come along she did and this is her with her Mum and brother. Her dad is working and her "sis" isn't too well at the moment but we will get a family group pic soon.Kyra you have landed on all four paws.

How nice for this wee girl, she has settled in so very well and her Mum & Dad can't imagine life without her now.

Dear Ena & Frank Hope you like the pics. Will try to get one of the two of us with Misty next time Paul is down - now that I've got new batteries for the camera!

Thank you both so much for rehoming her to us, we just couldn't imagine life without her now, she is loved so much.
Will keep in touch.

Kind regards

Christine Ron and Misty xxx

Update 9th October:
Just to let you know that I am very happy in my new home. Christine has
changed me over gradually to Iams light - its ok I suppose especially when
its mixed with chicken, mince or fish.
I have been really good and sleep
all night till 8am, when Christine takes me for a nice walk, then home for
breakfast. I have been showing them a few tricks of mine - such as
opening doors. We go for walks over the Braid hills and hoping to go to
the beach this week. I've also been off the lead with Ron and stuck close
by.
Thanks for looking after me so well and finding me a new home with the
"oldies" who just adore me. Christine has a couple of photos to send.
Love Misty, Christine & Ron XXX
