Posted: 30th January 2012

Dear Ena,
Just to let you, and his previous owner, know that Nipper is settling in
nicely here, and we are very happy together. He is getting
lots of long walks, and is eating happily. I have not yet tried letting him
off his lead, but he has a very long extending lead and he is quite happy
roaming around on that. He also gets lots of runs in the garden. He would
very much like to play with some of our squirrels, but they keep running
away from him. My children are thrilled with him, and he has been brilliant
with them, and with my neighbours' children who have also enjoyed playing
with him. I have attached some photos for you.

Many thanks for a sweet natured, well-behaved wee dog.

Brilliant update Kay thank you so much, so pleased he has settled in so very well

Hi both. Small dog feeling better each day. Keira next door tried as usual to eat the postman so that alerted everyone that he was due. They were so disappointed when he didn't come to us that Jack went out and posted a newspaper. Usual chaos and now everybody has settled down happily again. Take care! Us x

Halo Auntie Ena
I hope you can remember me.
I just wanted to wish Happy New Year and tell you about my happy times.

I am very happy, love my brother Dexter and also Jasons family has new puppy so
I have another new friend.
We go for 2 long walks every day, so meet nice people from village and over the weekend. We go to big dog park, so I love meeting more dogs, last Sunday we met group of 13 dogs so we joined for hour walk:) I was so good, playing and chasing other all the time.

I get on well with people and kids too.

I am very strong, my favorite thing is to lay over peoples feet and back, I have lots of energy and play with Mum all the time. Mum lets me chase after
rabbits in local field and quarry so me and Dexter run like twins everywhere.

I also passed my first puppy class tests, so I am starting new bigger dog school!

Just wanted to say I am very happy and Mum and Dad loves me very much, they both work from home so I see them every day.

Liz thank you for the update on this wee lad he certainly landed on all four paws when you adopted him xx

Hi Ena,

I hope this reaches you; I'm just guessing at the address! Sorry I missed your phone call the other day ... I presume it was to enquire about Dexter, so I thought I'd send you a photo so you can see how well we are all getting on!
I must say Dexter is an absolute treasure. He's become a well-known character in the village and greets everyone with a waggy tail. One of the best things about him is that he is brilliant with children - as you see, my granddaughters love him to bits. I never have to worry about him with other dogs either; he's always sociable. In fact, I can't really fault him!

It's me Polly getting ready to go to my new home. I think I'll be fine with my new family as long as they have a ball and a chuckit. I have come on really well since I came in. Infact I'm a really happy girl now. My best pal at the kennels is Frank and he really wanted to take me home and I just LOVE him, no one else existed for me when Frank was around. Hi Ena.
I hope you are well at Second Chance. As you can see Fraser is enjoying home comforts! He has been a bit unwell lately with an ear infection and is now on tablets and drops to hopefully clear it up. He is also now takes regular medication for his epilepsy. So fingers crossed he should be feeling better soon.

Snuggy >>
Posted: 21st January 2012

Hi there Ena and Frank,

Happy New Year to you and all at Second Chance.

It is hard to believe that Snuggy has been with me for 4 months already. We have great fun together and have walked miles and miles. Before Christmas we were at the beach every day and Snuggy can chase a ball for hours if you let her. She has a great trick of losing one ball only to find another one nearby - this week's treasure on our walks has been 3 tennis balls, a yellow sponge ball and a pink squeaky pig!

I have had to keep Snuggy away from the boys since the beginning of the year, this has curbed her ball chasing and we have been walking on average 5-7 miles a day to compensate. Everyone we meet thinks Snugs is a puppy which is strange as her old owner reckoned she was 4 years old. I don't think she was as used to walking as her little paws were very pink. They are looking a bit more used now. She still wants to play ball when we get back to the house, and doesn't seem to understand when I fancy a cup of tea instead!

I have attached a recent photo of one woman and her dog. We went hiking down in the forest near Traquair in the Borders just after New Year. The photo came out beautifully and I am going to get it made into a canvas.

We have been following the adventures of your other dogs, especially Holly and Ollie the collies - they both seem to have gone to lovely new homes.

Keep up the good work, hope to see you both soon,

Love,

Carol and Snuggy xx

Jack was in the conservatory and the door had swung shut. We were not pleased! Notice the mats - we now have 6 making a path from the living room door to the outside conservatory door. It means that Susie can move around more easily and more quickly.
All of us x
